Why Create a Newsletter?

Unlike newspapers, newsletters are usually targeted at a very specific audience rather than at the general public. Because the content is more targeted, a newsletter should provide very specific information. The average person could go through the newspaper and read only a few articles in the whole publication because many are of little or no interest to him or her. In a newsletter, because the editor knows that the reader is a retail jewellery store owner, or an employee of Giant Corp, or has an interest in saving street children in South America, only articles of interest to that specific reader will be included. Therefore, the reader is far more likely to read most or all of the newsletter’s contents.
